Explore the natural world at the arboretum! Families will participate in various activities to engage their inner naturalist. We will learn to make nature journals, sound mapping, and other activities connecting us to nature. Stay tuned for registration details.

You are Invited! To a ribbon-cutting to celebrate increased accessibility at the Arboretum! Refreshments will be served. This project was made possible with a generous grant from AARP and donations from the family of Cheryl Fluck, Juneau-Gastineau Rotary, Juneau Community Foundation, and Friends of Jensen-Olson Arboretum.
Once again the Friends of JOA will have a table with the Juneau Garden Club at the Public Market! We will be offering gift memberships, field guides, hats, seeds, cards and more! Admission is $10 at the door. We hope to see you there! Friday 12-7pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am-5pm
The Friends of Jensen-Olson Arboretum have been invited to lead an activity at the Juneau School District’s STEAM event on March 10, 2025. Ideas welcome and volunteers needed. Saturday, May 17, Noon-5pm. Jensen-Olsen Arboretum will be selling plants at UAS Egan Library, Glacier Rooms 221 & 222. The Plant Sale will be open to the public during the American Primrose Society National Show and Alaska Master Gardens State Conference. Come to the sale for a great selection of locally grown primroses and other garden plants.
